Chinese Mantis Tenodera aridifolia sinensis

We burned Tucker Prairie this day, and were Chinese Mantises everywhere. Many where out and about before the burn, but the fire flushed even more out of the vegetation until there were literally hundreds, some sitting on the tops of shrubs and fence rows, others flying like mad to escape the fire. Some were green, others light brown, with most somewhere in between. This individual is one of the mostly green individuals. It was about 15 cm long.
